Next shoot - Action/Sports
Part 1
1.Photographer : Sam Adams
General Focus of Portfolio : Photojournalism
Judges don't like : The judges are tired of seeing so many pictures of children in the portfolios. The judges didn't really care for the picture of the fireman putting out the fire. They didn't like when the guys were just sitting in the pools and not doing anything.
Judges like : They liked the picture of the bmx bike riders. They also like the silhuette pictures.
My Impression : My overall impression is that the photographer could have done a better job with taking pictures for his story. I also think his first picture in his picture story was very nice and it had good lighting.
2. Dustin Snipes
The judges liked his lighting in some of the pictures. They also think he did a good job with taking pictures where everyone is doing something. They also really liked his 'Superpipe' picture. They thought he was very creative.
I saw a lot of strengths, he had very good lighting in all of his pictures, he was very creative, and he took good pictures.
3.The judges looked through all of the portfolios and decided which pictures were the best. They also looked at the picture stories to make sure all of the pictures went well together. They also looked at how the photographers were taking the pictures and deciding if what they had was quality work.
Part 2
1.I agree with the judges on picture with the player and the bird on her arm. Her face is priceless and it's a really good picture. It's a very creative picture even though it wasn't planned out.
2.I don't agree with the judges on the picture of the wrestlers, i don't think its a very good picture and the judges decided to keep it. I don't like how it's shot from really high and you can't really see the wrestlers faces or anything like that.

Architecture Preview Assignment
1.Details : I chose this picture because you can see the Details very good and you can see that the photographer got close.
2.Light : In this picture you can see how the light flows through the building and it makes the House look more interesting and kind of creepy.
3.Patterns : This building is a good example for patterns because the roof repeats itself 5 times and all of them look the same.I also like the angle in which this picture was taken.
4.Angles and Shapes : I like the Cubic Houses in Netherlands because they have very interesting angles and I like how they all look like tilted cubes.
Surroundings : I love this picture because of the contrast between the newer and bigger Building in the background the older and smaller picture in the foreground.

Cover History
1. Early Magazine Covers: The magazine covers usually just had a title and table of contents. For the cover picture it often looked like the cover of a book and didn't say what was inside. The covers of early magazines were fairly formal. The photo didn't show what was going to be inside but it sometimes did have a symbolic purpose. Later you would find cover lines on these magazines.
2. The Poster Cover: In this time you would find magazine covers that were drawn or painted. The illustrations where not only on the cover but also on the inside too. Also there would be a cover line telling what will appear inside of the magazine. The covers were usually very bold and caught attention and were more different than anything before.
3. Pictures Married to Type: Magazines had large titles with a portrait of someone. There were cover lines all over the magazine cover. The person that was showed on the cover was posed and placed in a certain way to show off the magazine. They would add different colors to cover lines to make it pop more. Eventually cover lines would take over.
4. In the Forest of Words: In the magazines the coverlines were as important than the coverpicture. Sometimes the coverlines would be bigger and more colorful than the actually title of the magazine. The photos placed on the cover of the magazine are more exciting and eye catching.

Photos of the year 2009
I picked this picture because I like the sky. I also really like how you see the bushes and right behind them are the buildings , I like this line between nature and downtown.Another thing , that is really cool is that it looks like the man on the bottom left is waterskiing barefoot pulled by his dog.The photographer used the Rule of Third because of the man with his dog in the bottom right part.
I pickked this picture because the photographer got a great shot of the guitarrist jumping. He also managed to get the drummer in the picture really good ,I think this is a really good photograph.
I also think the background is pretty interresting.
This picture shows a lot of energy.I chose it because you can see that everybody is having fun playing in the mud. I think the photographer tried to get the crowd in the picture so it makes it more interesting.
